Parish Council
A Parish Council is the first tier of local government. Hermitage Parish Council has 11 councillors.

We meet on the third Thursday of each month in the Adelaide room at the back of the village church. Meetings start at 7.30pm. All meetings are held in public and are fully minuted with agreed minutes being posted on the Notice Boards, at the Post Office and on the Village Website.
Hermitage Parish Council performs the following roles:
Starting each council meeting with a 'Public Open Forum' |
Liaising with the appropriate body on community concerns e.g. West Berkshire Council or Local Landowners |
Having representatives at regular meetings of the Neighbourhood Action Group which involves our local Police Officers and representatives from neighbouring parishes |
Having councillors who interact with Community Groups such as School, Pre-school, Scouts/Cubs, Village Hall and Church |
The Parish Council have no responsibility for the Village Hall which is run by the Village Hall Management Committee
